3) Meadows at Elk Camp
Located three and a half hours slightly southwest of Denver, Aspen Snowmass Resort features its own tubing hill. The lanes offer a lift to the top and are expertly carved. They also feature illumination for night runs when available at special events. A pass for the hill is available by purchasing an Activities Pass, which also gives access to the alpine coaster at the resort.
The hours of operation are unique, offering only two hour windows on the activities pass. These are:
- Noon- 2pm
In past winter seasons during Ullr Nights, the activities pass can be used at the tubing hill from 5:30p-7:30p, and 6:30p-8:30p. Ullr Nights is a winter wonderland resort-wide party honoring Ullr, the Norse God of snow! Besides tubing, you can also enjoy live music, s’mores, hot chocolate and snowbiking.
Riders must be 38” tall to ride, and there are no double or group tubing opportunities at this location.

5) Hidden Valley
Nearly two hours northwest of Denver near Estes Park is Hidden Valley. Hidden Valley is part of Rocky Mountain National Park. It used to be a family ski area, but was redeveloped into a sledding area that is easily accessible by car.
Although there aren’t any restaurants or amenities by Hidden Valley, you will find a picnic pavilion and restrooms with flushing toilets. Bonus for the kids? A warming room to ward off the winter chill!
Because the tubing area is within Rocky Mountain National Park, you’ll just have to pay park entrance fees. For a regular passenger vehicle, this is $25 for an all day pass. This is a much cheaper option than the hourly fees incurred at other locations on this list.
